Welcome to Whale Song TCM
I developed WhalesongTCM in order to reach out to my first nation’s community, as a member of the Dzawada’enuxw nation. I grew up with the awareness of spirit and how important it is that we have a strong connection to our spirit in maintaining a healthy body and mind. I chose to enter Traditional Chinese Medicine as its holistic practice and theories resonated with my own beliefs. TCM is an ancient and very refined medicine that helps stimulate the body’s own self-healing properties to help you regain balance and well-being. Acupuncture is not magic or voodoo—it works whether you believe in it or not!
Whalesong was inspired by several dreams I had of orca whales. I later found out from my cousin and incredibly gifted artist, Marianne Nicolson, that the orca is a healer and when you see one, you should pray for it to take your illnesses away.
I will be offering a workshop and treatments at the Sacred Healing Journeys Holistic Healing Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, June 22 - 24, 2012.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
"Dr. Karyn Smith came and performed her skill and experience in Chinese Acupuncture and massage at our 3rd Women’s Retreat at R22 campsite 5 miles up the Dempster Highway. The ladies at camp were all greatly impressed, grateful and appreciated her experience, knowledge, and her gentle bedside manner. She was very respectful; she answered any questions we had for her, her manner puts you at ease right away..."
